Pupa, typical cookie in our breakfast!

The doll and the horse, Easter cakes of the ancient tradition of Abruzzo in our breakfast.

I grew up with a grandmother who every year baked a lot of cakes during the holidays, to envy the fastest and organized pastry brigade!

Exactly one week before Easter, my sister and I were called to report to knead, bake and bake cookies, fried and above all give color to the chicks (we were making ourselves) and horses for the boys of the family.

Both had to have in the center an egg wrapped in two strips of woven pasta symbol of rebirth.

So, only on Easter morning you could break and eat soaked in milk and cocoa!
